My Favorite Christmas Tunes

Oh boy, how time flies! It’s already the 1st Advent Sunday, which means 4 weekends to go until Christmas. I am a true lover of Christmas and especially enjoy the time before the holidays a lot. However, I know for some people this time can be very stressful. Not just at work, but also privately. Christmas parties here and there, and not to forget the yearly struggle to get the perfect gifts for our loved ones… As far as I can think back though, I’ve always loved this season and my Mom made quite the effort to have our house decorated as if the “Christkind” was actually living with us. We used to make ourselves tea in the evening, fired up the chimney, wrapped gifts and listened to Christmas tunes on most nights. I’m very thankful that nothing has changed about that ever since. The older I get, the more I realize how much this season means to me and how much I appreciate traditions like having an Advent wreath and Advent calendar. I believe one is never too old to believe in the magic of Christmas and all the lovely moments and traditions this season holds. I also believe, if we take a step back and look at our life from a distant perspective, we’re all able to see what this season is really about. It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters; it’s who is around it.

One of the things I love most about this season definitely is its music. I love how music has the power to put you back into a moment a long time gone, and makes you feel as if you’re right there again. With greatest joy I’ve therefore gathered all my favorite Christmas songs in one playlist. Some of them are old classics that my parents played at our house ever since I can remember. Some other songs I’ve heard at Starbucks during Christmas time when I was still at Uni. We used to do a lot of our group work there and I just could not wait for the holidays to start. Some more songs are soundtracks from my favorite Christmas movies. But they all have one thing in common: They simply make me happy.

I hope you all a have a fantastic 1st Advent and get to enjoy ’tis season to the fullest. Without lots of stress and struggles.

Christmas is not a season, it’s a feeling.
