After basically living in a bikini these past weeks during our honeymoon I extended summer to the max this year. So today marks the first day of fall for me. I’m still trying to beat the jet lag, but being back at home and back to real life excites me very much. You probably won’t believe me when I say this now, but I’m actually very keen about the colder days back at home. Fall is one of my favorite seasons – especially when it comes to dressing. I’ve always had a weakness for heavy knitwear, cool boots, jackets and blazers, and layering clothes in general. This season I’m especially looking forward to all kinds of satin skirts combined with boots and a cosy wool jumper to bring some contrast into the outfit.
I often get asked about my wardrobe staples and which pieces of clothing I couldn’t live without. There’s no doubt that a heavy knit jumper is one of these items – especially for fall! If you want to treat yourself to something special to add to your wardrobe this season, I highly recommend you to get your hands on a warm wool jumper and also cool boots are a must. These are two key pieces you can combine with so many other things to create awesome outfits. My advice for the jumper is to get it in a color that flatters your skin tone and hair. Caramel brown or ecru white go very well with brown hair, and all kinds of grey look awesome on blondes. As for the boots, I like to keep it super simple and picked a pair of classic black block heel boots with a twist. In this case, the lace up boots are a very versatile eye catcher that will easily get me from fall to winter, especially because the boots come with a treaded sole.
Now I’m only hoping that October has some more beautiful fall days left in stock for me to rock those satin skirts and dresses before we’ll have to get our thick coats out of the back of our closets again…
It’s so good to be back and I’m looking forward to sharing lots of honeymoon and also wedding posts with you those upcoming weeks!
