How To Wear: Red and pink

For my recent trip to Marrakech I tried to pack as light and smart as possible. Meaning: Only pack pieces I knew I could wear on more than one occasion. Especially shoes usually take up so much luggage space (and weight!), so being extra thoughtful about what shoes you’ll actually need is crucial. Since we were invited to a wedding that stretched over 3 days with 4 different dress codes, this was quite a challenge. You probably know by now that I’m always the one who’d choose comfort over style when it comes to shoes, because I hate nothing more than not being able to move or dance in the way I want to just because my feet hurt. Luckily, there are shoes that combine comfort AND style, so you don’t have to sacrifice either of it. Once again, Högl impressed me with their quality of the pink suede leather slippers. I wore those shoes for several occasions, including the welcome soirée, the wedding reception, for a trip to the Medina, and for our trip to the desert. Needless to say, those shoes always add a pop of color and make any outfit a little extra immediately.

Whoever said that red and pink don’t work together in an outfit better looks again. Wearing those two colors together was once considered a fashion faux pas, or as an outfit choice strictly reserved for Valentine’s Day. Thanks to designers such as Valentino, it’s not only socially (and fashionably) acceptable to combine those two colors, but it’s even considered one of the hottest color pairings ever. For those who think this combo might be too extra for a daily outfit far away from the runway and fashion scene, I’ve put together a very simple look combining two of my favorite pieces lately which I wore at Scarabeo Camp, as well as for traveling back home to Austria.

In order to make bright color combinations work for me, I love to keep the whole look as simple as possible. The red jumpsuit is the ideal basis for it: I love the deep red and the fact that you don’t need to worry about what to wear with it, because it only takes one piece to be fully dressed. The hot pink slippers with the gold details are a real eye-catcher and I think it’s safe to say that red and pink is a perfect match in this case!

As a little goodie for you, I’m very happy to be partnering up with Högl and give you the chance to win a pair of those beautiful pink slippers.* They are a summer wardrobe staple and I’m sure you’ll get to wear them a lot this season.
