Office Days & Life Lately

Days are getting shorter and sunshine is nothing to take for granted anymore. Winter is coming, it’s undeniable. For bloggers those colder and darker months of the year can be quite the horror story, especially if you’re like me and love shooting with available light only. You might have noticed the lack of outfit posts over here. It’s not that I didn’t dress up or live in my PJs the past two weeks, but truth is: I didn’t manage to plan my shootings right. Either Patrick and me had a shooting planned but then the weather didn’t play its part (aka it was raining and just grey) or we had so many errands to run and things to do during the day, that all of a sudden it was 5 pm and pitch black outside.

Long story short: To honor more reality on the blog and Instagram, today’s outfit is brought to you in artificial light shot in our cosy office, where I spend most of my time these days anyways.

I’m still trying to catch up on all the e-mails that have been piling up since our honeymoon (HOW!?) and am working on some very cool projects which I’ll be able to share with you soon. Also, I’m planning something special for my lovely readers (aka my virtual family, as I like to call all of you!) this Christmas, which I’m very excited about already. However, there’s still so much going on in November that Christmas still seems so far away – although it’s less than 40 days until Christmas Eve, can you believe it!? There are two more super exciting trips on my agenda this November, one of them is happening next week and will take me to a place I’ve never been before, but always wanted to visit.

The second trip will be at the very end of November and I’m particularly looking forward to this one because one of my best friends will join me. Other than that, I’ve made it my goal this year is to take Christmas and especially the four weeks leading up to it a bit slower. Because at the end of the day, less stress and more time with loved ones is all I’m wishing for this Christmas. Let’s see how I’ll be able to manage to reach that goal… Also, there are still so many beautiful wedding blogposts and also some travel diaries from our honeymoon on my list which I’d like to share with you. But right now it seems like time is flying by faster than ever. A week is gone in the blink of an eye, isn’t it?!

Anyways, I’m still very excited for the festive season to begin (how can I not be – #xmasloverforever) and will share some Christmas content over here soon, too.

Back to the fashion related content of this post:

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen me rocking this gorgeous leather skirt a couple of times these past weeks. Since our last trip to Australia I’ve had a major crush on leather skirts after seeing them on so many Aussie girls. Back then, I got my hands on one and have been wearing it for fancy as well as super comfy occasions on a regular basis.

When I spotted the high-waisted button down skirt at Maje Paris during their summer sale, I couldn’t resist and thought it would be the perfect addition to my closet. Turned out: I was right! However, super hot summer months are not exactly the best time to wear tight leather skirts. So the skirt was sleeping in my drawers since it arrived, but now it’s worn all the more often. Unfortunately, this exact one is sold out by now, but I’ve been browsing my favorite online shops and gathered some very beautiful options for you.

When buying a leather skirt, make sure it fits tightly! Due to the nature of the material, it will eventually melt onto your body and hug you in all the right places – trust me. Also, a leather skirt is likely something you’ll be having for a very long time, so it might be worth considering spending some extra bucks on good quality.

My favorite leather skirts:

Spotted: N wearing a velvet head band like back in the old days.

Last but not least: Can we please quickly talk about the revival of the headband? I mean… Anyone who’s watched Gossip Girl as obsessively as me (guilty as charged) probably understands my excitement about this trend. As far as I am concerned, it comes just at the right time because I’ve been debating with myself whether I should drastically chop off my hair (as I said I would after the wedding), but then again I like it very much right now. However, I feel like it always looks the same and kind of boring… So hair accessories such as head bands and cute hair clips are a fun way to change things up a little. Give it a try! In this spirit: xoxo
