Food For Thought: This is your life

This is your life. Do  what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you’re looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, all emotions are beautiful. Life is beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Tavel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.

These words are of course not my own, but the famous Hostee manifesto. I could not have said it any better though and it perfectly describes the reason why I start this blog. “Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.” So here it is. My very own blog, a place where I want to share my passions with you – whether it’s a cool place I visit, a sunset that’s taking my breath away, a picture of my dog that makes my day, a song that I can’t get out of my head or just the littlest things in life that bring me joy. It’s been a long way coming and something that I’ve had on my mind for the past couple years. But if something is still on your mind after such a long time, it’s worth going for, right? Why I want to do all of this? Mainly to show my kids one day what I’ve done so far, where I’ve been and to share all those memories with them. Sometimes I have the fear that life just happens way too fast and we don’t really take enough time to stop and look around, and realize how amazing everything actually is. I want to use this blog as a space to collect memories and moments that are worthwhile, and otherwise gone too fast.

I don’t know where I’m going with this, but I’m pretty excited that I’m finally doing what I was talking about for so long. All my friends know how long I’ve been thinking about starting a blog and I think some of them are very relieved that it’s finally happening.  At this point I think it’s an appropriate time to take the opportunity and thank the people who’ve been encouraging me all the way:

Thanks Maddy, for making me realize that pink is just not my color. You’re such a gem and I’m so grateful that our paths have crossed. I can’t wait to sip on Chai Lattes in Sydney with you, go soaking up the sun at Bondi, and watch you become the world’s most famous typographer.

Thanks Alex, for helping me find myself and my superpower. You’re a rockstar and I’m truly thankful for your help and all the effort you’ve put into my brand identity. I think there’s hardly anyone who’s ever analyzed me more thoroughly.

Thanks Patrick, for always putting me in the right light and making sure there’s a smile on my face. You’re one of a kind and one of the most talented people I know. Without you this dream of mine would have never become reality. You just get me. And, you know.

Thanks Mamsi, for always supporting me no matter what I do and no matter how crazy my ideas or outfits are. You’re my best friend, my rock and my soulmate. Thanks for teaching me everything about style and class, thanks for showing me that black works wonderfully with black and that red lips are simply magic. You’ve always been and will always be my style icon and most favorite person ever.

Thanks Papi, for teaching my how to navigate a boat and how to park a car like a man. Also, I’m glad you taught me that the most prestigious watch you can wear, is the one you don’t have to wear because it doesn’t matter what time it is. You’re the best dad a girl could ask for and you’ll be my superhero forever.

Thanks Maxi & the Lumis, for being the best little furry companions anyone could ask for and for making sure I remember what life is really about: Eat, sleep, have fun, love & be loved, repeat.

Thanks to all of you who are coming here from Instagram and have been encouraging me so much to start a blog – your comments and daily support mean so much to me! You rock!

And thanks to everyone else who’s inspiring me every day – like these two girls who made their vision come true and encourage so many young women to follow their dreams as well.

Okay, so if I ever have to hold an Oscar Acceptance Speech, I’m set. (insert sarcasm here)

Now, excuse my mushy first post – I promise it won’t always be like that (only sometimes).

If I have not totally lost you already, I hope I’ll see you around here and on Instagram, Snapchat (ninawro) or somewhere around in real life, too.

xo, Nina
